Managing your WordPress site yourself
- Duration2 hours
- Who it is forWhoever is responsible for the site's content

The reason a business website is never up to date is almost never a lack of time. It is that the person responsible is afraid of breaking something. So they wait, they email the vendor to change a phone number, and the site falls six months behind.
This session runs inside your own site, not a demo. We publish a real page, edit real copy, replace a real image. You see exactly where to click and, more importantly, what not to touch.
We cover day-to-day content: pages, posts, menus, media, links. Then basic SEO, so what you publish has a chance of being found: titles, alt text, readable page addresses.
The last part is about what protects the site: updates and when to run them, the backup to verify before touching anything, user accounts and their roles, and what to do if something breaks. You leave with a one-page cheat sheet specific to your site.
